When packing boxes if there is any unused or unfilled space in the box we recommend filling it with tissue paper, newspaper or some other soft material. This will ensure the contents do not shift during shipping.
Wrap all of your furniture and non-boxed items thoroughly before placing into the container. It is inevitable that your belongings will shift during the move and wrapping your things well is the only way to protect against serious damage.
When packing your container please keep in mind that the heaviest items should be on the bottom of any stacks and the lightest items should be at the top of the rows you are creating. Tightly packing the container left to right and front to back is important. You do not need to pack the container to the ceiling if you don’t need the space. Load your bulkiest items first (washing machines, book shelves, couches etc…) and fill in the space with boxes. If you do not have enough items to fill the container front to back we’d suggest securing with high quality ties at the point you stop being able to fill.
